Summary: what we're building at Ashley Road Depot

Haringey Council is transforming the Ashley Road Depot site on Park View Road from a refuse depot into a new residential neighbourhood of 272 new council homes. The new development will also provide new homes for larger households: 92 of the 272 new council homes will have 3 or more bedrooms.

Following extensive community engagement with local residents in autumn 2021 and early 2022, planning permission was received in summer 2022. Resident feedback helped shape our plans, and you can read about this story on this site.

The feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive in support of the redevelopment proposals. A big thank you to the many hundreds of residents who shared their views: your feedback helped shape the final plans, making this project even better.

The new neighbourhood will create bright and attractive walking and cycling routes between Down Lane Park and Park View Road, with extensive new green landscaping that will draw the park into the old depot site. Mature trees along the boundary will be retained, and 74 new trees as well as flowering species will be planted throughout the site to provide additional habitat for existing wildlife in the park. The scheme will incorporate 2 communal courtyards and a residential podium garden for residents to enjoy.

Each of the buildings will include green roofs, rainwater harvesting as well as 512 cycle storage spaces encouraging residents to adopt active travel choices.

The new homes will be constructed with responsibly sourced and environmentally friendly materials. They will have high levels of insulation and incorporate other features such as solar roof panels that will help keep running costs low - helping our residents by helping our environment.
